Alpine Orchestra Enters its 20th Season
The Alpine Orchestra enters its 20th season with a series of concerts the fourth weekend in August.
Friday, August 27th, 7:30 p m, Annunciation Catholic Church, Leadville.
Saturday the 28th, 7:30 p m, Salida Steamplant.
And a Sunday matinee on the 29th, 3 p m, Mountain Heights Baptist Church, Buena Vista.
The diverse program includes numerous familiar melodies with works by Beethoven, Bizet, Mozart, Offenbach and Wagner; also The Lord of the Rings movie music. Pianist Karlie Carter of Buena Vista is the guest artist and will be featured in a Gershwin medley and Barry's Somewhere in Time.
The 35 piece symphony has members from throughout the upper Arkansas valley and invites everyone to its concerts. There is no admission charge but contributions are welcome to help defray expenses.
